The festival was featured in the top ten events of the day on HUGECITY.us, a social event sharing site with a large user following!

Big Red Eats Green featured local music sourced by Poppy House, including Shannon Hayden, Pretty Boy Freud and The Underhills.

The festival also offered students and locals sustainable food options from local restaurants, opportunities to participate in student groups, and educational lectures from Indiana University professors.

The event was another BIG success and fun event for Poppy House and we give our thanks to everyone involved!

Follies plays WIUX 50th Birthday Bash

Poppy House: Bloomington Music Collective musician Follies recently played the WIUX 99.1 FM 50th Birthday Bash in Bloomington, Ind. on Aug. 25!

The show was a huge success and we were very excited to participate in such a great back-to-school event!

Poppy House artist Follies brought her vivacious, eclectic voice-and-guitar combination to the outdoor performance, alongside Chicago band Oshwa, locally based group Wet Blankets and more.

There was lots of shade, a cool breeze, and lots of cake to celebrate the student-run station's 50th birthday. What could be better than that?

Visit Follies' website to learn more about her music, follow @Poppy_House on Twitter and like us on Facebook for news and upcoming events!

Sister Mary at The Grant Street Co-op

sistermary.bandcamp.com

Sister Mary is a musician coming to Bloomington on Wednesday, July 17th to play a show at the Grant Street Musician's Co-op. Currently she is on a DIY tour all across the northeast and the midwest of this country. She travels with her drummer and trumpet friends while she plucks along on the banjo.

Sister Mary's music is an ethereal blend between folk, bluegrass, and many other amazing things. Her voice shivers into sounds that you have never heard before. When listening to her album, Sanctuary, you feel as though you are transported into a world you never knew. The album allows your mind to wander to places it has never been before while Sister Mary crones stories to you.

Sister Mary recently released a new full length album that can be streamed and purchased on her bandcamp. You can also purchase a physical copy of her album in person at the show tomorrow night. Please stop by at any time. Doors will open at 8pm with poetry readings and Aaron from Forest Rambler starting the night off. Sister Mary will start playing around 10pm.

Just Brewed

Recently, we were fortunate enough to be approached by a radio show that airs on WIUX, the local student radio station. They asked us if we would be interested in coming in and talking about Poppy House for a little bit. We were so thrilled! The guys' show plays some really great music and also focuses on talking to the people of Bloomington. They heard about us through the grapevine (Facebook) and were kind enough to get in contact with us. We had a great time talking with the guys and look forward to listening to their show every week!

Our interview with Just Brewed will air on Thursday, July 11th between 11:00am and 1:00pm. If you are busy then, but still want to listen to our interview- you can listen to it here.

Just Brewed airs every Thursday this summer from 11:00am to 1:00pm on WIUX 99.1fm.

A big thanks to Tyler Dennis and Stephen Overcash for taking the time to set this up and interview us!
